Basic Incident Command System/Incident Management System (ICS/IMS)

The principles of the ICS/IMS were created in response to a series of wildfires in Southern California in 1970, which brought to light difficulties when emergency personnel from multiple jurisdictions respond to the same event. The goal of ICS/IMS is to simplify communication, establish clear lines of authority and command among multiple agencies, and define roles and responsibilities of all disaster response participants. This presentation will introduce the basic structure and principles of the Incident Command and Incident Management System.
